If I had a dollar for every time someone told how much they wished they could sing I’d be rich. The good news is YOU CAN SING!! Sure, some people have the vocal physiology to produce a nicer sound than others however, everyone can learn how sing correctly and improve their voice.

Have fun learning to sing in a relaxed, nurturing, non-judgmental environment. Whether you want to learn to sing “just for the fun of it” or are a professional singer interested in further developing your vocal skills, I help students of all ages reach their goals through proper vocal technique. Learn to safely expand your vocal range and projection through proper breathing, vocal placement, vowel work, intonation, resonance, etc.

My teaching covers many different vocal styles ranging from contemporary music to legit musical theatre and a little of everything in between. In addition to studying vocal technique we will also work on vocal performance/presentation, the coaching side of performance (relating to an audience, microphone technique, the acting part of singing).

Together, we will develop a plan to specifically meet your vocal needs and budget. All lessons are private and taught out of my home studio. Each voice lesson is taped so you can practice at home.

Although I enjoy working with students of all ages, I specialize in the proper development of young voices. Many voice teachers will not work with young singers. You need to be extremely careful since the vocal physiology in the young voice is still developing.

Many of my students have gone onto careers in vocal performance in such fields as Broadway, recording, film and television, while some have become music teachers and others enjoy singing in their church choirs and community theatre.

    Teaching Education

I took my first voice lesson at age 15 after being cast in a musical. Through the years and many voice teachers later I learned that having a great singing voice doesn’t make you a great vocal instructor. The ability to teach is a gift and a blessing. That’s why I continue to study to this day.

After graduating high school and ECA (The Educational Center for the Arts) as a voice major, I attended Boston Conservatory as musical theatre major. From there I went on to study with Charlie Sorrento, a professor of voice at Berklee College of Music who first introduced  me to the "Bel Canto" method of singing http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bel_Canto. It was Charlie who 17 years ago urged and inspired me to start teaching. I have studied classical voice/opera and musical theatre with a number of different NYC vocal coaches including Robert Marks.

I am privilaged to study with the great tenor and world reknowned vocal instructor, Marshall "Rusty" Raynor and pass down his firsthand teachings from some of the greatest classical singers of the 20th century including American dramatic tenor Claude Heater, Italian tenor Mario DelMonaco and German tenor, Max Lorenz. Through Rusty's guidence the old "Bologna School of Singing" will live on.

In addition I have taught workshops at many different schools and events including The Cameo Kids Talent Agency out of Boston. I am also a national judge for Talent America where I teach a seminar “Selecting and Performing that Perfect Audition Song"
