Karen's Bio
Karen Wagner is a professional singer/actress and vocal instructor. As a Boston Conservatory and Northeast Bible Institute alumni, some of Karen’s professional theatrical credits include Eva Peron in Evita, Rowena in Biloxi Blues, Lady Thiang in The King and I, the Narrator in Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and Leisl in The Sound of Music. Karen's love for the theatre has inspired her to develop and perform her one woman show "Karen Wagner's Broadway Cabaret Experience".
She has been the lead singer for many Boston and Connecticut based bands including Route 66, a 1940’s singing group and currently performs throughout the country with her one woman cabaret act singing hits from the 20's-70's including today's music and a little of everything in between. She also sings with numerous bands and recently released her newest album, Karen Wagner Sings Broadway. Karen's recent appearence with the national act "The Rat Pack", gained much attention and recieved rave reviews.
Her music can be heard on 104.9 WIHS, the Gospel America Network and various local television shows. Karen, a singing evangelist, and worship director at Hope Christian Church in North Haven, CT, also tours throughout the country "Spreading the Word" through music. As a former member of "Salt and Pepper Gospel Singers", Karen has had the opportunity to perform and open up for such artists and speakers as "The Winans", "The Reverend James Cleveland" and "Reverend Jessie Jackson". She has performed at the GMWA (Gospel Music Workshop of America) National Convention.
Karen has appeared as a regular guest and co-host on the nationally syndicated Joe Mazza Show, WELI’S Jerry Christopher Show and WPLR’S Chaz and AJ in the Morning as a guest vocal coach.
